Sara Nooft Counseling

May you find this space inviting, clarifying, and empowering to receive the support you need.

The Counseling Process

To be human is to hold deep dignity and frightening frailty. We play, we create, we love, we hope, we search, we risk. We fear, we despair, we hurt, we bleed. Sometimes, we find ourselves in the midst of depression, grief, burnout, anxiety, despair, addiction, marital distress, and panic. With best intentions, we tirelessly cope and fight to survive.

My hope is that you experience a safe and sacred space through the counseling process. A space that invites you to return to hope, play, and belonging through relationship. This return will require walking through - not around - the pain and sadness. That’s why we don’t do this work alone.

I would love to come alongside you and bear witness to your return.

A bit about me.

My experience with counseling started at a young age. I was fifteen when I began fumbling my way to health - emotionally, mentally, and physically. My counselor told me to make a garden, a real garden with flowers and dirt and bushes. I remember sitting on my knees moving dirt around truly not knowing the purpose. Now, I’m grateful for the glimpses of color and life and hope my counselor gave me.

I earned my Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts from New College Franklin and my Master’s in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary. My background includes years in international missions and church ministry, along with training in trauma-informed practices such as Internal Family Systems and embodied modalities like yoga.

Creativity and play are central to my life. I love dance, music, yoga, rollerblading, and slow evenings cooking with my husband or snuggling with our dog, Max.
